BASF showcases variety of new products at Fakuma

When the doors open on the 26th Fakuma in Friedrichshafen, Germany, from October 16 until 20, BASF will be showcasing its latest developments from its extensive portfolio. The international trade fair for plastics processing will see BASF experts discussing the current market trends in the automotive, lifestyle and industrial development sectors. Many new products and innovations will be presented at stand 4306 in hall B4.

Elastoflex® E: Innovative foam for thin and light instrument panels

A new series of systems in the Elastoflex® E product group now allows significant weight reductions for foam-backed instrument panels. With its very robust and fine cell-structure, this Thin-Light system can be used for components with a much smaller profile of less than 5 mm.

Foaming simulation of PU systems now also available for car steering wheels

BASF has expanded its simulation tool Ultrasim® so that it can now precisely predict the foaming and curing of the flexible integral foam system Elastofoam® I for car steering wheels. Thus the most important chemical reactions as well as the flow behavior in the mold can be calculated. The new service allows steering wheel manufacturers to reduce development cycles, lowering costs, while realizing the trends towards greater functional integration, more electronics and individual design in steering wheels.

Young, wild and light – BASF presents new designer shoes in Milan

This year, BASF, the world market leading chemical company, presents its latest developments regarding Elastopan® (PU systems) and Elastollan® (TPU) with an international expert team at SIMAC, the international machinery and technology trade fair for footwear in Milan. SLENTITE® wins 2018 German Design Award

SLENTITE®, the high-performance insulation material from BASF based on PU aerogel has received the 2018 German Design Award from the Design Council. The distinction was awarded for excellent product design in the Building and Elements category. The expert jury stressed particularly the varied opportunities that SLENTITE® offers architects, designers and planners as a result to its special product characteristics.
